Service was ok here…can’t tell if the Italians are just usually stern & unsmiling in demeanor or they just don’t like tourists? Food was overall good, except for the panna cotta…which had the texture of cream cheese and not the usual slight gelatinous texture we expected. Plus, the top layer of the panna cotta was a bit firm & dry…which probably means it’s been sitting out for awhile, so not fresh. Nice, waterfront location though and the weather is perfect at night for eating outside.

Atmosphere was nice. Dinner by the water and the couple next to us were lovely. We got ricotta with cuttlefish ink which was a first for us and we kept ordering it all trip at other restaurants that how much we enjoyed it. Limoncello spritz was delicious according to my wife to be. Got the sea bream again because I’m on a mission to find the most delicious sea bream in the world. It was good but not great.7/10 BUT the tiramisu was unfortunately the worst we’ve ever had. Dry and just didn’t taste good. We did not return.

This was the first restaurant we went to in Venice, and honestly, it couldn’t have been a better start. The food was super fresh and tasty, and the place itself is beautiful—right along the canal, with a cozy and relaxing vibe. Zakarya was really kind and took the time to explain the dishes to us, which made us feel really welcome. He was generous and full of energy, kindly gentleman!~ And Dori, wow. She’s not only beautiful and sweet, but also strong and inspiring. She’s the kind of woman you really admire. She made us feel like friends, not just customers. And Dori also very warmly offered us a taste of her special lemon liqueur, and honestly, it was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had—so fresh and delicious! It was such a happy and memorable experience. We even took a photo together to remember this lovely moment. I really hope this restaurant keeps doing well—they both deserve all the best! My friend and I both really loved this restaurant and the wonderful people Dori and Zakarya and. We truly recommend this place to all future guests, and we’ll definitely tell our friends about it too.

We ate here multiple times. Patricia was absolutely amazing with us, specially our kiddos. They had the perfect suggestions for the appetizers, main course, dessert, and of course, wine! The kids wanted to eat here very day, that’s how great it was. Anything seafood was a delight.

This place is amazing!!! The service is great and the hosts will make you feel at home. They are very nice and fun. The food was also incredible! It tasted very fresh and was very flavorful, not at all a tourist trap unlike other places in Venezia. The portions are also great and you will leave feeling full and satisfied. The view is also beautiful with a great view of the canal. It is very fairly priced and it is a must visit in Venezia!!

We stopped for a meal at Hostaria Veneziana, a quiet little spot by the water in Santa Croce, Venice. I had made a reservation in advance, worried that it might be crowded—but to my surprise, we were the first ones there! While other tourists were still checking menus, we had already started eating We ordered a variety of dishes including Linguine alla Busara, Spaghetti Amatriciana, Frittura Mista di Pesce, and a Pizza Frutti di Mare. The food was decent—not extraordinary—but you could taste the freshness of the ingredients, which made it enjoyable. Everything had a home-cooked feel to it. What really stood out was the friendly service. The staff were incredibly warm, helped us take photos, and even smiled when I said I was reviewing the place for my page. They said they’d be looking forward to reading it! If you’re exploring around Rio Nuovo and want a quiet place to rest and enjoy a meal by the water, this is a cozy and relaxed option. Don’t expect fine dining, but come for the chill vibe and genuine hospitality.

The food is good overall. We had tagliatelle con salmone and pizza tonno e cipolla. The pasta portion is rather small but for a girl is ok. Unfortunately I found something like a string in it :(. They served us plain bread in the same time with the main course, dunno what should I do with it. I understand grissini or chips, but not plain white supermarket bread. The location is great. Beautiful view.
